Why Are Lobster Prices So High?

Winter weather and wind allows for lower lobster harvesting. Lobster prices are always based on supply and demand.
We are sorry that our valued customers who love lobster are faced with higher prices this time of year, but we hope that by early Spring prices will be lower.

Another big factor is that the worldwide market, especially from China and Korea has been willing to buy up the supply at any price. This hurts our ability to purchase at a reasonable price. The lobsters that are stored at the lobster pounds in Maine
are being depleted which also drives up prices in New England.
