We have never been to the prepped food part of this business (although it always smells good), but we make the 45 minute drive down to the retail part about once a month. They always have fresh fish, and other seafood. Great selection too!!! And while it's always a mad house in there, they always are well staffed and the staff are very friendly and helpful!!!

Look not only do they have fresh seafood at a fare price you can also get something to eat there and have a beer. How great is that ? Lobsta rolls, clam chowder, whole belly clams, fish.. If you've not been you've got to check it out..

My local fish market has the best clam chowder! City Fish is a big operation; wholesale & retail fish monger, sit down restaurant and to go market. I've bought everything from salmon and sea scallops to 6 pound lobsters (yes, they are tender). Retail prices are not cheap. So I don't shop there often. Except for the clam chowder.

Their clam chowder is the best. Last week sampled clam chowder at five locations in Boston and southern Maine. City Fish is the best, bar none!

City Fish is a staple in the greater Hartford area for excellent seafood. This little restaurant is a comfortable place to eat the quick meal you just bought from the retail store. Nothing fancy, no wait service just you and your quality fish dinner.

Delicious lobster roll, clam strips, scallops, and shrimp cocktail! Whenever we are visiting family out here, we always have at least one meal at City Fish! And today we can add soft shell crab to that list!

Good selection, quality seafood. I have gotten bad fish, but they replaced it. One problem I have is that they have a coupon for 10% off that they used to accept on phones, but now they require you to print it, wasting an entire sheet of paper every time I buy fish.

It was a hot & sunny Saturday. Been craving fish & chips since prior to my surgery in May. Hubby & I went around 2 PM. a wonderful surprise - I could get an add on of soft shelled crab. so we split the shrimp & chips special with a side of fish & an add on of the crab and a Blue Moon beer. It is not the most elegant of fine dining but the dinning room was clean &tables cleared as soon as diners left. There are picnic tables in the far parking lot if you want to eat outside (no beer outside) a few minutes to wait while the fresh fish this side of Cape Cod is cooked to heavenly perfection. the crab was one of the meatiest crab I have ever had. OH YUM

Go to City Fish for two reasons: you want some really fresh and delicious seafood to eat now, or you want some really fresh and delicious seafood to take home and cook later. I've been three times and had the opportunity to try the cold lobster roll, French fries, clam chowder and fried shrimp. I have to be honest, the lobster was a bit on the chewy side, but delivered otherwise. The chowder was pretty good, not the best. The fries were thick, salty and crispy. The fried shrimp was extremely tasty. The breadingwas seasoned perfectly, adding that crispy texture without taking away from that really fresh shrimp flavor.

If you are going for lunch, they have a nice little dining room where they serve some good craft beers. The seafood you can buy to take home and cook is on the pricey side, but it's better to pay that extra buck for fresh fish that's not been sitting in a grocer's freezer for months. Spend the extra cash for quality.

Excellent Fried Clams!!! No time for pictures!!!

'm able to get a hot lobster roll during the dreary snow filled winter. The small boy gets fish nuggets which are great- and the counter people always offer him some oyster crackers to nibble at while he's watching fish and we are waiting for order up. From retail side I got the best Chilean sea bass, huge scallops and tips on cooking. The fact this place is family owned and takes customer service to a new level is evident.Check website before you head in, sometimes Tuesday/ Wednesday there will be coupons.
